Before we present you the golden rules you should keep in mind when choosing the domain name, we would like you to present a quick history of domains and domain extensions.
In 1972, The Defense Information Systems Agency from the U.S established something known today as IANA or Internet Assigned Numbers Authority which would become the IP or Internet Protocol addressing system. During the 70s, the Internet continued to develop and grow, especially with the rise of the email. In 1984, researchers at the University of Wisconsin created the first “name server”. One year later, the Domain Name System was created and the original TLDs were quickly introduced. The original top-level domains are .net, .com, .org, and other you probably know. Today, there are more than 19 million registered domains and this number continues to grow every day. The .com domain is without a doubt the most popular domain extension today.
